Peter Karner's geometric patterns are inspired by Navajo eye-teaser weavings, textiles, and landscapes. His work is functional stoneware fired to cone 10 in a reduction atmosphere. Although most pieces are wheel thrown and altered, he also makes hand-built serving trays in various sizes and shapes. Much of Karner's decoration is achieved by layering different glazes using brushwork, wax resist, and liquid latex.
