Susan Fleming Chiyogami Necklace 3

In Susan Fleming’s most recent body of work, Japanse Chiyogami papers, have been the focal point rather than gem stones. These hand silk screened papers can be incredibly ornate. She extracts small scenes from the papers and sets them in sterling silver. Each peice in then protected under a small layer of resin.

Susan Fleming works out of her studio in Bozeman, Montanna. Susan's unique work combines hand silkscreened Japanese paper and sterling silver. Each piece of paper is set in one of Susan's designs and then sealed by a thin layer of clear resin.
