Alfred Stadler

Head Designer and Creative Director of Alfred Stadler Life Style, Alfred has an extensive background in product and interior design with the focus on luxury materials such as leather, wool felt, wood and horn.

At a young age, Alfred earned his degree in Product and Interior Design from GWS Bern of Technology in Bern, Switzerland. Later he was introduced to artisanal craftsmanship with a top saddle maker building custom saddles for Olympic dressage riders. Here he learned the qualities of fine leathers and wool felt as well as the techniques of molding and sewing these materials.

With his thorough knowledge of design and leather, soon he was a member of the DeSede design team. Later, he became head designer of Swiss Seats and built a new furniture collection.

What followed was an impressive professional experience in North America. In 1991, working with the textile pioneer, Jack Lenor Larsen, Alfred designed and produced a modular area rug collection which met the needs for custom sizing demanded by architects and designers. For Ruckstuhl, a high-end carpeting company, he worked extensively with felt and introduced the use of felt for interior applications for walls, ceilings and cabinet linings. Alfred later became Director of Vitra Home North America strengthening the company's presence and sales in the U.S
