      A little planter is a sweet little addition to anyone's home. It is great for succulents or any small plant.

      Each planter is cast from a home made plaster mold with the herringbone patterned carved out and inlaid with black underglaze or hand painted. This planter is for indoor use. There is no drainage hole.

      Measures approx. 2" length x 2" width x 2" height

      Using porcelain, she interchange slipcasting, handbuilding and wheelthrowing techniques. The objects act as a canvas for drawings that can be found on most of her work. The drawings are all inlaid into the clay using a traditional mishima process and the decorative colors are hand painted.

My work is a small part in helping to bring back an appreciation for handmade, quality goods. Elizabeth Benotti's was born and raised in Massachusetts then headed west to study ceramics, where she received a BFA at the University of Colorado in Boulder. It was there that she took her first ceramics class and fell in love with the material, process and the community it creates. Upon graduation she was accepted into the Resident Artists program at the Mendocino Art Center nestled on the northern coast of California. She was able to work alongside a small group of dedicated artist who are now close friends. Currently she reside in Eliot, ME and creates all the wares in my Rollinsford, NH studio.
