About the artist:I live and work in Los Angeles, California with my husband, two sons and dog.
I've been making pots since 1991, when a fruitless search for a simple, unadorned cylinder caused me to decide to make my own.
I sat down at the wheel and I was instantly captivated by the motion, speed, and emotional highs and lows of the process.
I was a graphic designer at the time but I knew that eventually I would become a full time potter. But graphic and interior design still figure strongly in my work, and the idea that each thing should be useful, even if in a purely visual way, is my credo.
My initial need to find that simple cylinder is still there. I believe that economy and simplicity are modern and always relevant.
