07.2007 – Trunk Show with `e ko logic

On July 5th, 2007; 6 – 8 PM, Jamaica Plain will host the remarkable series of 1st Thursday’s events.
Fire Opal’s artists for this evening, will be `e ko logic , a fashion design partnership between Kathleen and Charlie Tesnakis. `e ko logic reclaims, reuses, recycles, and reduces to rediscover and renew great, new fashion apparel. They design and create stunning women’s and men’s fashions; transforming recycled clothing fabrics into brilliant, unique contemporary style….It’s true what they say, "99% recycled 100% style".

About `e ko logic, Inc.
Designer Kathleen Tesnakis discovered her muse in reusing old sweaters in 1996 and thus `e ko logic was born. After years in Portland OR, both Kathleen and her husband Charles wanted to return to New York. They found the perfect home for the `e ko logic studio in Troy, NY, home of the "collar and cuff" industry. In April of 2003 `e ko logic, Inc relocated operations to the Troy Waste Manufacturing building, continuing a long tradition of reprocessing discarded textiles into useable products. Since the move, `e ko logic has grown into a full line of provocative clothing and accessories, for both women and men, made from recycled post-consumer garments. To say that the products are made with care is an understatement. To start, `e ko logic only uses secondhand clothes that are 100% cotton or cashmere. The garments are thoroughly cleaned before `e ko logic studio artists breakdown the items into usable material, hand-cut them into patterns and, working like a painters, combine elements to create each unique item.
