Yuh Okano

Yuh works with several quality textiles and processes including silk and Shibori. They create stunning surfaces which project three-dimensional illusions. Soft with flow and energy, her scarves are fun and fanciful contriving features of coral and sea animals immersed under water.
Yuh gained her basic design skills in Tokyo before coming to the US and completing her education at the Rhode Island School of Design. Her creations have been featured in Donna Karan and Martha Stewart. From her studio, based in New York City, Yuh continues to develop and define her exceptional concepts, being included in “Structure and Surface,” a contemporary Japanese textile at Museum of Modern Art NY. Yuh exhibits extensively in Japan and the United States.
