Elizabeth Holliday - artisan/designer/patternmaker
I've always loved creating, especially with a tactile medium. In another life, I might be a potter or a shoemaker. Fashion has held a special place in my heart, even as a young girl. My mom taught me to sew, and I was always reimagining off-the-rack clothing. While in college, I ventured into sewing clothing I cut from store-bought clothing patterns. Then realized I could reimagine those clothing patterns too...and off I went drafting my own patterns from scratch. After graduating, I decided to attend design school in San Francisco to be formally trained in the rules of pattern making – mostly so I could break them.
De Novo is a woman-owned, artisan company that has always been customer-focused and dedicated to quality. I design and pattern every piece, and have expert help with construction from a small and valuable team in the USA.
