Sheilagh Flynn’s richly textured and colorful ceramic wall art symbolizes her view of the world: a unified whole of many pieces. Her bold spirit and humble nature is reflected in her work. Her inspiration is based on aerial photographs of land, textures from nature, both land and sea, and industrial patterning like wallpaper. She includes elements of the earth in her pieces, like beach stones and metal. Sheilagh first discovered her love for clay at Boston College, where she received her bachelor’s degree in fine art in 1982. She moved on to study ceramics at the graduate level at the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth. She then made her way to New Hampshire, where she set up her current studio in Center Conway.
